General

Phone conference was from Noon to 1pm EST. Following discussion was recorded.

1.      Minutes from the Portland face to face were reviewed and accepted.

2.      The WBMM Charter has been in Last Call for over 1 month with few minor comments and corrections. Agree to progress to PWG Formal Vote. Bill Wagner to initiate.

3.      At the Portland face to face we indicated the need to add flow diagrams to Kelli’s scenarios document. No additional comments on that document at this time but this topic lead to a discussion of the PWG process emphasizing the need to elevate Requirements documents to a more formal position by giving them a high-level position in the PWG directory tree once they are complete and stable.

4.      We reviewed the WBMM Definitions of Components, Connections and Messages document, outlined by Bill Wagner. Attempting to establish clear terminology.

a.       “Management Interface” will be changed to “Management Agent”.

b.      Alert Report is conveying the same information as will be handled in a Notification scheme. We need to make sure we reconcile WBMM with any major notification effort.

5.      Based on the initial IBM proposal

a.       We need to review and revise this initial set of operations and methods based on further elaboration of our scenarios and associated flow diagrams

b.      There is a concern that lumping actions into one EXECUTE operation may defeat an appropriate level of granularity w.r.t. Authentication. We need to review each operation (ex. Reset, Purge etc.) on this basis.

c.       Question related to scope of WBMM

                                                               i.      Is Purge Jobs an appropriate operation for WBMM?

ii.      This brings up the question of separating “fleet management” goals and requirements from “job management”.

1.      Consider defining WBMM compliance subsets.

2.      Need to be clear about job vs. queue management and which is covered by PSI, IPP, WBMM etc.

6.      Note – no teleconference next week.
