- Lars Uebernickel is developer and now works at Canonical
  - CPD to be included in Ubuntu release 12.10 (October 2012)

- PostScript deprecated as standard print job format:

- Ubuntu Precise will support Google Cloud Print, easily accessible for
  users via GNOME System Settings
  - Ubuntu One will support Google Cloud Print and HP ePrint

- Ubuntu Precise will probably still use system-config-printer as
  GNOME's new tool is missing too many important features

- Common Print Dialog will come in Q. Q. (12.10)

- Mirror of OpenPrinting at Canonical is in the works

(6) Plan for new OP CUPS Filter Package (Till Kamppeter)

- CUPS upstream drops the following filters and backends which are not
  used by Mac OS X and passes them over to OpenPrinting:

  - Filters:
    bannertops
    commandtoescpx
    commandtopclx
    imagetops
    imagetoraster
    pdftops
    rastertoescpx
    rastertopclx
    texttops

  - Backends:
    serial
    parallel

- CUPS upstream removes all image-related functions from libcupsimage,
  separating them in the temporary libcupslegacy (to be
  renamed/eliminated by OpenPrinting)
